During this excursion you will learn about the history and the production of the so popular national drink of the Dominican Republic, the rum, among other things.
During a drive through the city you will experience the typical Dominican life. The cable car will take you high up to the local mountain Isabel de Torres, where you can walk through the beautiful botanical garden.
A magnificent view over the city and the surrounding area awaits you. Keep your camera ready! The subsequent visit to the Macorix rum factory is a great highlight of the tour. Here you will learn something about the origin and production of Dominican rum and afterwards you can also convince yourself of the quality.
The tour continues to the center of Puerto Plata, where you have the opportunity to buy amber and larimar jewelry and admire the central park.
Afterwards you will visit the fortress of San Felipe from the century, which houses a small exhibition about the history of the city of Puerto Plata. At the end of the tour you will have the opportunity to store to your heart’s content in the shopping center on the waterfront.
