The excursion begins early in the morning, around 8 a.m., departing from Las Terrenas or Santa Bárbara. Even the drive along the highway offers your first impressions of the region’s diverse landscapes before we arrive at the Biodiversity Park. There, a small local snack awaits you so that you can start the adventure well-prepared.
The hike, which takes about two hours, first leads us to the mysterious caves where the Río Socoa has its source. From there, we follow the river through lush nature and tropical vegetation until we reach the beautiful lagoon “Poza de Socoa.”
After a refreshing break in the lagoon’s clear waters, you will enjoy a typical Dominican lunch directly in the Socoa Park – the perfect way to end this eventful day surrounded by nature.
