Description

You will drive for about two and a half hours along the coast and the eastern mountain range to Sabana de la Mar. In the port of Sabana de la Mar the speedboat is already waiting to take you to the Los Haitises National Park. You will drive along one of the largest contiguous mangrove areas in the Caribbean. Then you will visit a breathtaking natural reserve known as “La Cueva de la Línea” with incredible formations of petroglyphs of great value and indigenous origin.

Los Haitises National Park is a region of exceptional ecological and recreational value. These unique geological features, with its flora and fauna are represented by many species.

Haitises means “highlands” or “mountain range”; out of a total of 3,600 square kilometers, only a small part of the park is open to the public. This Caribbean oasis is home to pristine mangrove tree forests, mangrove forests, Taino cave drawings, remote beaches, pirate hideouts, and a great diversity of native flora and fauna. This park is a reserve and sanctuary for many species of birds and marine life. Some of them are native only to the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.

After your walk through the mangroves and caves, enjoy a delicious typical Dominican lunch and your free time to relax while swimming in warm natural waters.
