Boca Chica, Juan Dolio

Welcome to Boca Chica and Juan Dolio
Juan Dolio

Located an hour east of the capital Santo Domingo and even closer to Las Américas International Airport (SDQ), the cosmopolitan beach town of Juan Dolio offers a simple and quiet tropical getaway close to the capital. Juan Dolio’s 10-kilometer-long, spacious and brilliant white sand beach is a favorite with affluent urbanites who flock here on weekends. Here you’ll find hotels, dive stores, restaurants and bars, as well as a variety of vacation homes, upscale apartment communities and newly built condominiums.

Beyond the days spent on Juan Dolio’s stunning beach, a variety of nearby attractions await. The adjacent fishing village of Guayacanes, with its canoe-strewn white-sand beach, offers a perfect day trip filled with local culture, while the azure waves of Playa Caribe attract surfers. Golfers will find their fortune at Juan Dolio’s Guavaberry and Los Marlins courses, where they can tee off against verdant vistas, while hikers can head to the “Cave of Wonders,” which reveals a wealth of Taino rock art.

Juan Dolio is also an ideal base for day trips to Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís or La Romana. These cities full of activities and shopping are within an hour’s drive east or west.

Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) is the ideal port of entry for overnight stays in Juan Dolio.

Boca Chica

On weekends, Boca Chica caters to Santo Domingo residents who come for its shallow turquoise waters. In Boca Chica, you can eat fried fish or seafood overlooking one of the many beach restaurants. On weekdays, tourists can have the beach and town practically to themselves. There are three beach areas: Boca Chica (swimming, dining and nightlife), Andrés (sailors and sport fishermen), La Caleta (divers)

.

Over the years, single tourism has become established, but Boca Chica’s three all-inclusive resorts are heavily involved in conference and sports tourism. Tourists staying there can enjoy a beach and proximity to Las Americas International Airport, are a half-hour from the colonial city and close enough to play good golf at Juan Dolio and La Romana.

Boca Chica is conveniently located near the sports facilities of Mirador del Este Park, La Caleta Underwater Park, sailing and fishing facilities, and beach volleyball courts.

Boca Chica is a 10-minute drive from Las Americas International Airport (SDQ).
